It was 4.5 years ago that I started at CTICU.
It had been 7 years since I had been in a clinical setting, although I had been a nurse for over 20 yrs.
I had taken a job at the Midwest Center for wound healing and Hyperbaric Medicine. Mainly so I could learn more about wounds, and their treatments, as nurse’s, we get very little training in the many different categories of wounds and their care. I was there for about 5 yrs. I learned a lot, but became restless.
I Then tried my hand at home health, i liked the freedom but missed the hospital setting.
These took me away from the clinical setting.
When i started at CTICU, I was very insecure, which surprised me. I did not think I would be.
However it was intense medicine in some cases, and it was a challenge for me to learn the different types of meds, machines etc.
The nurse’s were all young, younger then my kids. They were patient, kind, and excellent at teaching.
Some of the smartest, goal oriented nurse’s I have ever been around.
I love to surprise them, make them laugh, and just show them love and support.
I will miss so many of you!
Thank-you for the partys and all the love you have shown me.
I will miss you all.
